The Best Haircut I've Ever Had!
Reviewed by Cseablue on 2009-12-20T21:34:33Z

Ta's Salon is a pretty place and it was my first time there. I asked for Nikta because according to the other reviews she knows how to cut Asian hair very well. As she was cutting my hair, she told me all this information on Asian hair, and that it was difficult to cut. She also told me on how to take care of my hair and she did very well for only have a cup of coffee out of the whole day. I showed her the hair cut I wanted and told her I wanted to grow it out as well, and she set my haircut up for that. The only downside is that she is rather expensive because she is the trainer, but she really gave me the haircut I wanted.

Pros: clean, professional, good service

Cons: a little pricey

Great service & dedicated to their community

I went to Ta's because they were holding a fundraiser for the domestic violence shelter I work at. All proceeds earned that day were going to be donated to my organization. Stacie gave me a fantastic haircut - even a month and a half later it's still super-easy to style and lays perfectly. She also gave me a great brow wax and I came back several days later for a partial highlight (also looks great!). I definitely recommend Stacie and I have to say that the whole salon is fantastic as well. In addition to being clean and professional, the fact that their whole staff donated an entire day's work to supporting their local domestic violence program speaks volumes about their integrity as a business and commitment to giving back to their community. Other good points: It seemed like everyone there the two times I was there were returning customers - there is an atmosphere of friendship in the salon. Also, their diverse, experienced staff offers a breadth of expertise on all styles and hair textures.

Not as good as it first appears

I was looking for somewhere closer to home to get a good haircut, the place looks nice and I was happy to learn about Ta's. I read the reviews and was excited to have Stacie cut my hair at short notice. What a disappointment! The first thing she did was criticize my previous haircut - by an award-winning, long-time stylist. I'd never go anywhere else if he wasn't over an hour away and have made the drive to get a good style. I tried working with my hair the way Stacie "fixed" it for a week and it just would not lay right. I ended up going to one of the inexpensive shops because I couldn't afford another "good" haircut so soon, only to find out just how crooked Stacie had cut it. Some "fix!" I have since found a real quality cut just down the road and around the corner from Ta's. I will never go back to Ta's!

Pros: location

Cons: worst haircut in years
